London Academy Casablanca (LAC) is an innovative SMART SCHOOL that uses state of the art technology, and competencies that match the demands of the 21st century. Our certified teachers have 5 or more years of experience in international schools. The faculty are well-versed on the latest research and best practice pedagogy.
At London Academy Casablanca, the children will follow the International Baccalaureate Programme (IB). In the 2017-2018 school year, the school is an approved Primary Years Programme candidate school (PYP). The PYP prepares students to become active, caring, lifelong learners who demonstrate respect for themselves and others and have the capacity to participate in the world around them. It focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both within and beyond the classroom.
In order to prepare the students to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow, we need to provide them with the tools necessary to be competitive on a global scale. For this reason, we have had the school wired with Fiber Optic Wi-Fi and installed Promethean interactive boards in key locations around the school. In addition, if technology is needed, each student will receive a device recommended for his or her age and learning needs. We believe it is key that all students have equal access and are using the same technology programs and apps. Such tools allow the students to have a blended learning experience and facilitate the measurement of the comprehension level of each individual, hence the education is based on mastery not on time spent on a subject.
London Academy Casablanca integrates essential skills into its curriculum such as sports, physical learning activities, leadership, entrepreneurship, community service, drama, and public speaking. For students who are new to the English, LAC has an English Learning Center Programme. It is a yearlong transitional programme giving children the chance to improve their English language skills with native speaking teachers. They will reside in the programme and receive support until they can be fully mainstreamed.
